A Breakthrough Leadership Program for the Mining Industry and Its Stakeholders will be held at the convention facilities of the Tucson Marriott University Park Hotel, 880 E. Second St., Tucson, AZ 85719. Located in Main Gate Square, one block west of the University of Arizona campus, between N. Euclid and N. Park Avenues and just north of E. University Blvd. January  12-15, 2019, from 9am- 6:00 PM each day.

The University of Arizona Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources and Vanto Group will jointly sponsor this four-day program. Metallurgical Inputs to Integrated Planning

In collaboration with Freeport-McMoRan Inc. and Newmont Mining

When: Friday Jan. 25 – Saturday Jan. 26

Where: UA Campus – Tucson, Arizona

This 2-day short course is designed for junior- to mid-level geologists, mine engineers, and other mineral resource industry professionals. The course introduces the role of extractive metallurgists and process engineers in the mineral resources industries. Topics include ore types, process options and decision analysis, metallurgical testing and modeling, and the theory and practice of comminution, separation, and hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical operations.

The course is taught by a group of academic and industry metallurgists and engineers. No prior knowledge of metallurgy is required. The course is free to students or $850 to industry. Lunch will be provided both days.
